Ask Annie

Bike Docta!

Ask Annie, our very own fictitious super biker babe and Bike Docta. Ask her anything, ask her about power parts, ask her about performance problems, ask her the book value for your bike, ask her if a ZZR-1400 would suit you, ask her the tire pressures for a C90, ask her if you’d look cool on a cruiser, ask her anything ( ISH! ).

Question 1 - Irelands, i have a 1998 gn125 suzuki and wondered if you can tell me what spark plug i need? bev friend

Hey Bev,according to the ngk spark plug guide it is a DR8EA.

Question 2 - Do they make panniers for my Vfr 800?

Honda do make panniers for the majority of their vehicles but there are also after market companies such as Givi who make a whole range of universal fitments. Please can you forward more details of your bike so that i can be more specific eg:age and model?

Question 3 - Dear Annie, its about time Irelands had a decent looking member of staff like Julie! Do you service customers as well as their bikes? from A.PERVE

Very good Mr Perve but sadly you and your fizzie don't quite make the grade! Steve is only to happy to help though!

Question 4 - Hi,my bike is coming up a year old and i wondered if i need an mot?

You do not need an mot until the vehicle is 3 years old starting from the first date of registration.

Question 5 - I have just finished building my son a tsx 125 and cant get it to run right,my mate said that the carb fuel mixture is wrong and i wondered what the settings are?

When a vehicle gets older and worn any settings set from the manufacturer go out the window some what and the carburettor should be set up/adjusted by a professional. If the bike is running rich it may wash the bore of oil or if it is running lean there is a possibility of it running hot and potentially seizing.
