Meet The Ireland’s Team

Colin Ireland now in his senior years, has been in the motor trade all of his life.  He learnt his trade as a car technician at a local garage in Braunton before starting Ireland’s services in 1971.

Phil Ireland is responsible for workshop and spends his time managing all of your bookings and monitoring our technicians progress. From the age of 12 Phil has been a very keen scramble rider winning many trophy’s along the way, after many years of scrambling he achieved an equal level of quality in rallying competing in many South West rally’s. Phil can be found at weekends clocking up miles on his Yamaha Super Tenere.

Tom Ireland has a real passion for motorcycles and grew up around bikes in the workshop with Dad Phil and the team. Although Tom is a fully trained Technician he now manages the retail side of the business. Tom has also spent many years racing motorcross and is into bikes in a big way, over recent years really enjoying road bikes and getting in as many track days as possible.

Ken Maynard has worked in our parts department for over 20 years and has vast experience in the motorcycle industry. Ken and Phil grew up together in Braunton and spent a lot of time together riding bikes.

Lauren Filer has many qualifications within the industry, he is currently responsible for our clothing, accessories and on-line sales. If you can’t find on our site what your after or have a special request please get in contact with him.

Steve Riggs after many years as a motorcycle enthusiast and club racer went to college as a mature student to study motorcycle mechanics. After completing the full time course Steve landed a job at Ireland’s and travelled from Tiverton each day to work with our team.

Tim Cresswell has a wealth of knowledge, he worked for Ireland’s for many years back in the 80′s and returned here in 2007. Tim has a natural gift for electronics and fabrication making him a handy member of the team. If there is a challenge Tim will not be beaten and this is true in every working day.

Mark Bunby our motorcycle valeter and break down Recovery driver joined us a number of years ago and is a valued member of our team. After seeing his immaculately presented bikes Phil approached Mark for a job and his attention to detail is second to none. Marks family are all into biking, Mark’s wife Jane rides and both son’s Gareth and Glyn are keen off roaders. Gareth has won many local motorcross championships and Ireland’s are proud to sponsor him.

Josh Ridd our youngest member had worked on a Saturday for many years and having finished school he has now joined us full time. Josh will be attending a motorcycle technicians course part time to become fully acredited. Josh is a very keen motorcross rider competing in many rounds across the south west.

Julie Wood has been with us for a few years now. She looks after all our paperwork, invoicing and accounts. Julie has a BA in social sciences and is a competent book keeper. Julies two youngest sons also ride motorcross alongside Josh and Gareth.
